The Task: Are you ready to defend your group?
Congress Needs You to Present Your Position on BPA
Congress has asked for a hearing on the BPA debate to decide which type of legislation should be enacted to either regulate, or not, the use of BPA in commercial products.
You must stand up to represent your group, either the basic scientists, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), industry, or an environmental group at the congressional hearing to present information to persuade Congress to either regulate the use of BPA, or not, depending on your group. In your class, you will be divided into four groups, each assigned to a specific role. You must work together to investigate your role's position on the BPA debate and present your findings to Congress.
Also, to improve the quality of your presentation, you will be required to provide a visual aid, either a Powerpoint, movie, animation, brochure or other visual support to promote your role's position on the BPA debate.
